Golfer of the Year: There is just one competition left in the race for the title of Golfer of the year. In the lead with a total of 346 is Presidents prize winner Michael Scroope. In second spot are Denis Sherlock and Ray Deering who are on a total of 349. In fourth place is Tommy Gaynor with 352 and in fifth place is Eamon Byrne on 356. Michaels worst counting score is 72 and if he does not improve on this then Denis needs a 68, Ray a 70, Tommy a 69 or Eamon a 68 in order to catch him and force a 18 hole playoff. As they say it’s still all to play for and we wish them all the best of luck.
Scratch Golfer of the Year: In the scratch golfer of the year competition Ray Deering has a commanding 8 shot lead with just one counting competition to go. In second place is Seamus Brereton with a total of 385 and Michael Scroope is in third with 389. Everyone else is too far back to challenge for the win. In truth Ray looks home and hosed in the event as Seamus needs a level par round and Michael a 3 under par round to tie Ray and thats if Ray does not improve on his total.
Captains Prize Mr. Bernard Delahunty: The first round of the competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday. The draw for partners will take place on Thursday 21st and the time sheets will be in the Pro shop from Friday morning. If you have forgotten to put your name down please contact Tom Doheny a.s.a.p. and he will try to accommodate you on the time sheet. The format will be 18 hole singles stroke with the top 99 players plus ties qualifying for the playoff on Sunday 31st. The following prizes will be decided over the 36 holes, First to Sixth, the Gross, the past Captains, Students and Seniors.
