Lady Captain's Prize to the Men: The Wednesday Open singles competition on 15th July will incorporate the Lady Captain's (Toni Brophy) Prize to the Men. Her prize will go the best score from a Nenagh member.
Lady Captain's Day. Toni Brophy's Lady Captain Prize will be place on Saturday 18th July. Consequently there will be no men's competition on that day. The men's club wish Toni and her family all the best on the day and hope that the ladies will have great golf and good weather for this most important competition on their calendar.
Sunday 19th July Lion Club Open Singles;
Club Fourball:
The draw for the club fourball was made on Wednesday 1st July and is posted on the noticeboard in the men's lockerroom. In the preliminary round George Hayes and Philip Jakeman lost to Michael Fahy and Michael Tierney; Liam O'Gara and Tom O'Gara to play John Hickey and David Hickey; Denis Sherlock and Charlie Cavanagh v Liam Culhane and Ger Carroll. These three matches should have been played by 14th July. See rest of fourball matchplay draw on the noticeboard.
Senior Cup: Our Senior Cup team was in action in Castletroy at the weekend. They beat Ennis 4-1 on Saturday morning and Woodstock 4-1 in the afternoon but were beaten by Castletroy on Sunday morning by four matches to one. Thanks to the team of David Reddan Snr, David Reddan Jnr, Collwyn Martin, Conor O'Dwyer and David Hunt. Their manager was Paul Malone.
Duggan Cup: Our Duggan Cup team have reached the semi-final stage following their 4-1 victory over Rathdowney on Saturday. Paddy Martin and Patsy Farrell and Sean O'Donnell and Jack Dunlea won in Nenagh while both Paddy Kennedy and Jim Gleeson, Ger Clifford and Michael Hegarty won in Rathdowney with Paddy Heffernan and Ger Heffernan our only loss. Edenderry, the host for this competition, will stage both the semi-finals and final. Nenagh next match is scheduled for theSunday 16th August.
Club Seniors and Beechwood Cup:
If you are interested in entering the senior matchplay and Beechwood Cup competition you can enter now. The closing date is Sunday 26th July.
Club Singles:
The Club Singles competition is down to the last few matches. Michael Tierney to play Brian Fitzgibbon; Paul Moloney v Paddy Martin in quarter-final matches. These matches should be played by 15th July. Michael Cormack and Jack Dunlea are in the semi-final.
