Open Team Of Three

Team of Three 2019-20: The Team of Three competition for 2019-2020 will commence in October. Members can play Monday to Saturday, visitors can play any day excluding open days. Two teams qualify each month. If visiting team not in first two, best visiting team to qualify each month with a grand final in May 2019. Prizes: 1st - 3x €300 Vouchers; 2nd - 3x €200 Vouchers; 3rd - 3x €100 Vouchers; 4th - 3x €75; 5th - 3x €50 Vouchers. Competition fee will be €10 each for members and €20 each for visitors with re-entry in the same month €5 for members and €10 for visitors. Play off 9/10th of your handicap. Each player who enters will be included in a draw for prizes of €150, €100 and €50 at the end of the competition. You may book on-line or contact the Pro Shop 067 31476 Ext 2 or 087 2132241.

Fixtures: Wednesday September 18: Open Singles
Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22: Irish Kidney Association Scramble.

Irish Kidney Association Scramble: The annual scramble in aid of the Irish Kidney Association will take place on Saturday and Sunday September 21 and 22 at Nenagh Golf Club. This competition is an open team of four, any combination of ladies and men. Entry is €60 per team. There will be a ladies prize. This is a very worthy cause and your support would be appreciated.

Moore Cup: Nenagh retained the Moore Cup title with a narrow victory at Portarlington Golf Club on Saturday September 7 when they defeated a gallant Carlow side 4-3. This is the first title to be won by the club this year so far. Representing Nenagh were Billy Burke, Jimmy Bourke, Matt Hanly, P. J. Shanahan, Kevin Stritch, Dinny Ryan, Pat Boland. Other panel members were Pat Murtagh and Tom Harty. Captain Hugh Maher was in attendance to receive the cup, on behalf of the club, from competition sponsor Michael Moore. Congratulations to the team and their manager Bernard Delahunty.

AIG Jimmy Bruen Shield: Best of luck to our Jimmy Bruen team who are in action in the All-Ireland semi-final on Friday at Westport Golf Club. As Munster champions they will play the Leinster champions The Island. Show your support for the team and selectors Collwyn Martin and David McGrath.

Masters Final: The top 48 in the Golfer of the Year standing qualify for the Masters Final (sponsored by Gleeson and Co.) to be held on Saturday September 28 and Sunday September 29.

Singles Matchplay: The singles matchplay is now down to the semi-finals. Tom Clarke will meet Alex Jones in one semi-final and Michael Fahey plays Brian Freeman in the other.

Club Fourball: The Club Fourball is down to the last few matches. Eamon Callanan and Mike Ryan are in the final. Bernard Delahunty and Matt Hanly are through to the semi-final to meet Ger Clifford and Ger Ryan. Get your match played as soon as possible to keep this competition on schedule.

Beechwood Cup: The draw for the Beechwood Cup is: Brian Maxwell v Kevin Folen and Martin Horrigan v Mark Ryan.

Seniors Matchplay: The draw and results for the Seniors Matchplay: Charlie Cavanagh v Denis Sherlock; Ger Ryan beat David Kennedy; Aussie Dennison beat Joe Mills; Tom O'Donnell beat Cathal Lee.

Senior Open: The Friday Seniors Open will begin on Friday October 4. The tee will be booked from 10am to 12. Play from the green markers. Members €5 and visitors €10.

LADIES GOLF NOTES 08/09/19

Golfer of the Year 2019. Congratulations to Deirdre Hughes who won the Golfer of the year 2019. Deirdre also won the Silver Medal(handicap 20 or less) and silver spoon( best 3 net scores). Congratulations to Marie Corrigan on winning this years Bronze Medal(handicap 21 or greater).
