Results: Wednesday Open Singles, Wednesday 16th October:
1st John Seymour (14) 40 pts;
2nd Michael Fitzgibbon (6) 38 pts (back 9);
3rd Paul Malone (14) 38 pts (back 9);

seniors 1: Edward Gleeson (25) 38 pts;

Heavy rain early on Wednesday morning delayed the start of play but once the weather improved over 65 players teed off. John Seymour took the first prize with 40 pts improving from his second place finish the previous Wednesday. Michael Fitzgibbon was four over par with two birdies for his 38 pts. Paul Malone, who hadn’t been in the prize for a while, scored 38 pts which included birdies at two tough holes, 6th and 16th. Edward Gleeson certainly benefitted from the extra practice while on tour in Spain recently.
Friday 18th and Saturday 19th October Open Singles:
1st: Conor O’Dwyer (3) 41 pts;
2nd Patrick Reddan (20) 39 pts;
3rd David Hunt (1) 38 pts;
gross Collwyn Martin 38 pts;
seniors Michael Fitzgibbon (5) 35 pts. CSS: Friday 36 pts, Saturday 35 pts.
The low handicapped golfers were among the prizes for the Friday and Saturday competition. Conor O’Dwyer eagled the 12th and also had three birdies for his 41 pts and first prize while David Hunt was one over par for his round which included an eagle at the 17th. Collwyn Martin went round the course in two under par with five birdies. Sandwiched between these heavyweight was Pat Reddan who had a very credible 39 pts for 2nd place.
Nenagh v Roscrea. Sunday 20th October:
Nenagh emerged 11-8 winners in the annual Nenagh v Roscrea match held at Nenagh on Sunday last. Everybody enjoyed the day with the weather obliging. Nenagh captain Eamon Callanan and Roscrea captain Paddy Bergin both praised the course staff for the condition of the course and thanked the bar and catering staff for their work with the meal and refreashment after the match. Overall prizewinners:
1st: Ger Clifford and Michael Varley 48 pts;
2nd Billy Morgan and Sean Quinn 45 pts;
3rd Tony Scroope and Michael Scroope 44 pts (last 3).

Hole-in-One: Congratulations to Ger Lenihan who had a hole-in-one at the 6th hole while playing in the Wednesday Open last week.
